Russell Bradbury, 85

Russell F. Bradbury, 85, of Middleboro, died Nov. 10 at home after an illness. He was the husband of Virginia A. (Ieronimo) Bradbury and the son of the late William E. and Stella L. (Lougee) Bradbury.

He was born on Jan. 17, 1932 in East Bridgewater and lived in Middleboro for many years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Bradbury was a member of Local 4 and worked as a heavy equipment operator for SEMASS for many years before retiring in 1995. Previously he owned and operated Bradbury Excavating. He was also a cranberry grower.

He enjoyed reading, hunting, and fishing and was a league bowler.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia A. (Ieronimo) Bradbury; his children, Diane Clark and Judith Perry of Carver, Donna Morris of Plymouth, Russell F. Bradbury, Jr. of Richmond, Virgina, MaryJane Driscoll of Wareham, William Bradbury of Carver, James Bradbury and his wife Jocelyn of Fort Worth, Texas, Patricia Randazzo and her husband Joseph of Chicopee, and Virginia L. Bradbury of Middleboro; three sisters, Florence Pelaquin of Bridgewater, Hattie Lacallade of Coventry, Rhode Island, Shirley Undus of Bridgewater; a special family friend, Buddy Perry of Carver; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Ralph Bradbury, William Bradbury, Jr., and Lester Bradbury.

His funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Middleboro.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
