Dec 15, 2017

Police arrested a 30-year-old East Wareham man for allegedly brandishing a gun after being cut off by another driver on Glen Charlie Road. Police stressed that no shots were fired and no one was injured following the incident, which occurred on Dec. 15 at approximately 9 a.m.

Ryan Bowers was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon after another driver reported Bowers pointed a 9mm handgun at him during a traffic incident.

Police said Bowers then called seconds after the initial call to report the traffic incident. Both drivers were told to pull over and wait for officers.

The gun described by the first caller was found loaded inside of Bowers’ car, according to police. When questioned later, Bowers denied pointing the weapon at the other driver.

Bowers was arrested and booked at the Wareham Police Department. Police noted that Bowers had a valid license to carry firearms, which was immediately suspended after the incident.
