Andrew DiPasqua, 71

Andrew Keene DiPasqua, 71, of Wareham died Jan. 3 at Boston Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Sylvia) DiPasqua for 48 years.

Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Ferdinand and Katherine (Mandeville) DiPasqua. A longtime summer resident, he moved to Wareham year-round in 1970.

Mr. DiPasqua was an electrician and a member of I.B.E.W. Local 223. After retirement, he was the supervisor at DCR’s South Beach State Reservation. Mr. DiPasqua was also a call firefighter for the Onset Fire Department, and former water commissioner. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

He volunteered his time for the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in East Falmouth, and Sacred Heart Retreat Center in Wareham. Mr. DiPasqua enjoyed collecting American Flyer “S” scale model trains. He created an extensive collection of international fire department patches that are displayed at Onset firehouse. He enjoyed spending time on the water boating. He wintered with his wife in Bonita Springs, Florida. Mr. DiPasqua is most remembered for his sense of humor, his devotion to his family, strong work ethic, strength, and faith in God.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. DiPasqua; his son, Peter DiPasqua and his fiancé, Melanie Sylvia of Wareham; his daughters, Amanda Dipasqua Curtis and her husband Rob of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Amy Jope and her husband Michael of East Freetown; his grandchildren, Pamalla and Samantha Dipasqua, Samara and Kevin Curtis, and Nathan, Benjamin, Jacob, David, and Levi Jope; his brother, Vincent Dipasqua of the Philippines; and his sister, Doris Leary of South Charleston, West Virginia.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, Jan. 7 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham from 4 to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, Jan. 8 at the Bay Community Alliance Church, 40 Cypress St., Buzzards Bay at 11 a.m.
