Anne Rhue, 93

Anne E. (Martin) Rhue, 93, of Wareham, died Jan. 26 at her home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Burton L. Rhue.

Born in Abington, she was the daughter of the late Noel Eugene and Cora Eleanora (Giguere) Martin. A graduate of Abington High School, she also attended Brockton Beauty Academy. She was a loving homemaker who was devoted to her family.

Mrs. Rhue enjoyed writing poetry, crossword puzzles and oil painting. She was a member of several women’s groups in the area, and was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham.

She is survived by her children, Beverly Hallisey and her husband William of Plymouth, Burton Rhue, Jr. and his wife Gay of Marstons Mills, Sheryl Dragone and her husband Richard of E. Bridgewater, Sheila Langelier and her husband Martin of Halifax, Cynthia Kaiser and her husband Bruce of Pittsburg, New Hampshire, and Elisa Rhue and her husband Marc Racicot of Wareham; her brother, Dennis Martin of Edgewood, Florida; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, the late Noel Martin and her sisters, the late Corinne Fozzy and Marilyn Martin.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
