Roger Hanscome, 45

Roger Christopher Hanscome, age 45, passed away unexpectedly at home. Roger graduated from Wareham High School in 1991 and worked a variety of different jobs up until a few years ago, when he became disabled with rheumatoid arthritis.

His arthritis never prevented Roger from enjoying life though. He loved to travel and visited Hawaii, California, Grand Canyon and Las Vegas, Washington, D.C.,Walt Disney World and South Carolina. He was planning a trip to Italy and Israel in the fall with his aunt and friends. His favorite place, however, was Maine. He was never happier than visiting Maine with his friends. Roger also enjoyed the world news and his rock and roll memorabilia and treasured his grandfather’s artifacts from World War II.

Roger is survived by his mother, Pamela Moore (Roy); son Ryan; sisters Christine Pagan (Luis) and Alicia Moore; his aunt Leslie Quinn; his stepfather Frank “Tiger” Moore; a niece (Bella) and nephew (Frankie) and his sister in law, Carrie Hill. In addition, there are also numerous cousins, aunts and friends who love him and will miss him dearly. In keeping with his love of rock and roll, Roger is also survived by his beloved cat “Hendrix.” Roger is predeceased by his grandfather, Paul C. Quinn; grandmother, Helen F. Chambers; and his step-grandfather, Jay Chambers.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham. Visiting hours are from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday. Interment will follow in Agawam Cemetery, Wareham.
