All shellfish areas in Massachusetts were closed March 1 as a precaution for the effects of the coastal storm predicted for this weekend.

Digging, harvesting and collecting shellfish is prohibited until further notice.

After the storm, owners of aquaculture licenses may do necessary maintenance or retrieval of their equipment with the consent of the shellfish constable.
