29 percent of Wareham still without power

Mar 14, 2018

Eversource crews are working to restore power to Wareham following Tuesday’s powerful nor'easter. As of Wednesday at 4 p.m., 29 percent of Wareham, or 4,180 electrical customers, are still without power.

Company officials warn that for some the restoration effort could be a multi-day affair. High winds and wet snow hampered repair efforts as did the sheer volume of outages, more than 100,000 were without electricity on Cape Cod Tuesday night.

“Customers are being advised to make plans as it may be days until power is fully restored,” according to an Eversource press release.

Currently, the Multi-Service Center at 48 Marion Road is open as a warming center. Residents may go there to recharge electrical devices and get out of the cold. Bring clothing, medication, charging devices and other necessities. Pets are not allowed.
