These boots were made for... fundraising!
These boots weren't exactly made for walking, but that's OK! All you have to do is try them on.
It's a fundraiser for MA Children's Relief, run by Main Street pawn shop Gateway Gold & Pawn. If you try on the shop's pair of red high-heeled boots during the month of July and let employees snap your picture in front of the sign outside the store, the shop will donate $10 to the nonprofit.
MA Children's Relief provides clothing, holiday gifts, back-to-school essentials, and more to local children in-need.
The size-10 beauties were purchased by Dominic Cammarano, father of Gateway Gold & Pawn owner Sara Forrest. Cammarano admits he has a bit of a shoe fetish, which is how the whole thing came about.
Gateway Gold & Pawn employees were leaving a Seekonk flea market when Cammarano spotted the boots. They stopped the car to get a closer look at the flashy footwear.
Cammarano fell in love and purchased the boots at a value price: $10.
"Now we're the proud owners of the red boots," Forrest explained, adding that the employees then decided to put the boots to good use and came up with the idea for the fundraiser.
The boots are currently hanging on the wall behind the cash register at the shop. They're not for sale - don't even try to get them away from Cammarano - but employees hope the boots won't sit idle during the month of July. Visit Gateway Gold & Pawn, located at 298B Main Street, to try on the boots and help out MA Children's Relief!
