Police charge Wareham man with drunk driving

Police arrested a 63-year-old Wareham man on Tuesday afternoon charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

According to police, Michael Levett was spotted driving erratically on Main Street at approximately 2:25 p.m. Officer Matthew Donovan stopped Levett and arrested him after an investigation. Levett was taken to the Wareham Police Department for processing. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Wareham District Court on Wednesday, July 11.

Police noted that the department will vigorously enforce drunk driving laws and has a zero tolerance policy for anyone who drives while impaired.
