Six Wareham Gatemen will be participating in the Cape Cod Baseball League’s All-Star Game set for Sunday, July 22, at Whitehouse Field in Harwich. The game starts at 6:05 p.m. One of the Wareham players will also step behind the plate for the league’s home run contest, sponsored by Cumberland Farms. The Cape Cod Baseball League is considered one of the premiere amateur baseball leagues in the country and attracts future Major League Baseball players.

The All-Star Game pits the best players from the league’s East and West Divisions against each other. The Gatemen players are:

Austin Shenton, third base; Sahid Valenzuela, shortstop; Jeremy Ydens, centerfield; Bryant Packard, outfield; Ryan Garcia, pitcher and Easton Lucas, pitcher. Bryant Packard was selected for the home run contest.
