Inn on Onset Bay to offer yoga

Feb 22, 2010

It has twenty guest rooms, a cottage, and ocean views. And starting in March, the Inn on Onset Bay will be offering something a little different: yoga.

"There's such a great energy here with the beach across the street," said Cheryl Bagangan, manager of the inn and a trained yoga instructor.

Bagangan, who began running the inn with her husband last August, said she was looking for a way to offer yoga classes in the community. After finding some extra space at the inn, she realized that it would be a great location.

"The inn is a great vehicle to offer a unique setting" for people to de-stress, Bagangan said.

"No Stress Allowed Flow Yoga" classes will begin March 1 and run through May. Bagangan will offer classes on Monday mornings at 7:30 and Thursday evenings at 6. Classes are $10 each, and students can pay by class or by month. Preregistration is required.

Bagangan is also opening the inn for retreats during the off-season. The inn will host "Dream Doers over 40: creative career connections for women" on March 26 to 27 and a No Stress Allowed Yoga women's getaway weekend from April 23 to 25.

"We all have so much going on and the world is spinning so fast," Bagangan said. "We need to give ourselves a chance to relax."
