Eileen Tierney and Matt Pimental did Wareham proud at the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athlethic Association Division Three Championship Track Meet on Sunday in Boston.

Pimental finished 18th overall in the 300-meter dash with a time of 38.57 seconds.

Tierney finished in 5th place in the high jump, clearing a height of 5 feet and advancing to the All-State Meet on Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.  She had initial trouble, however, requiring three attempts to clear a height of 4 feet 10 inches - a jump she normally clears in a single try.

She didn't get upset, though, and easily cleared the 5-foot height in a single attempt.

"I was very impressed that she put the 4'10" jumps behind her and focused on what she had to do," said Coach Christopher Gardner.  "Many athletes would be upset. . . she didn't let it affect her."
