Miriam G. Fisher, 102
Miriam G. Fisher, age 102, died on November 16 at Forestview Nursing Center. For most of her life, she was a resident of Marion, MA.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Romaine Graham Fisher and two grandsons. She has relatives across the country, including her sister-in-law Helen Smith Graham, her nephews Kenneth Graham, Jr. and Robert Harlow Graham, and her niece Lynda Graham Ridge and her husband Martin Ridge. She was cared for over many years by her dear friend, Jean Daly, the kindly staff of Forestview, and her friends at Lantz Law, Inc.
Ms. Fisher graduated from Taunton High School with high honors. She went on to attend Boston University where she earned her bachelor of arts degree. She served for more than 30 years as the Principal Clerk of the 4th District Court of Plymouth County, the longest serving principal clerk in the history of that court. She loved to sing and for many years sang in the choir of Wareham Congregational Church.
Miriam was born in Berkley, MA where she lived with her parents, Elmer Graham and Maude Miriam Kistler Graham. For many years, Miriam, with her brother Kenneth, was home schooled by their highly-talented mother. When Miriam’s parents decided the children needed to go to public school for proper socialization, Miriam was advanced two grades ahead of her peers. Maude Graham was an accomplished pianist and Mr. Graham was originally an actuary before becoming a trout culturist.
Ms. Fisher’s funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 25 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Burial will be in Fox Cemetery, Berkley.
