Olivia Eckman, 9, has concerns about the safety of the Swifts Beach Playground. She wrote to the paper in hopes that her letter will inspire the community to take action and improve the playground.

Hi,

I am 9 years old and I live in Swifts Beach. I go to the playground with my cousin.

I think it should be redone with metal because it has been there longer than my dad and grandparents.

We both have gotten splinters from the old wood. We only go on the swings because we are afraid we will get splinters.
