Looking to get into the holiday spirit? Here's a list of the festivities, among other activities, coming up this weekend in Wareham!

Saturday, December 3

Free pilates and yoga class

Buzzards Play Productions will host a free pilates and yoga class from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Marsha Ann Hartley will instruct the class, which will be held at the playhouse, located at 3065 Cranberry Highway in East Wareham.

Participants must bring their own yoga mat. For more information call Hartley at 508-322-0998.

Decas Elementary bottle redemption event

Get rid of all those bottles and cans from the Thanksgiving holiday! A drive-thru can and bottle redemption will take place Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the John W. Decas Elementary School.

Only Massachusetts redeemable cans and bottles will be accepted. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the children who attend Decas. The event is sponsored by the Decas West PTA.

Wareham Garden Club Christmas Faire

The Wareham Garden Club's annual Christmas Faire will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 in the Fellowship Hall at the First Congregational Church on Gibbs Avenue.

This year's theme "For the Birds" keeps in the Garden Club's tradition of using predominately fresh and dried plant materials to create unique holiday centerpieces, decorated wreaths and boxwood table top trees.

Pretzel birdhouses, ornaments and an assortment of many other handmade holiday decorations will be offered as well. Gardening tools, cookbooks and gardening books will be on sale as well as unique primitives, a children's white elephant table, homemade baked goods and tins.

The Wareham Garden Club is a non-profit organization, founded in 1938. Proceeds from the sale help fund civic beautification projects and a yearly scholarship.

Friends of the Library holiday fair, book sale

The Friends of the Wareham Free Library's Annual Holiday Fair and Used Book Sale will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9:30 a..m. to 1:30 p.m. at 59 Marion Road.

Vendors will be present, offering great holiday gift items and homemade cookies for purchase. Hand-made and craft items include cranberry and chocolate treats, Onset coasters and pottery. The Friends will also be selling their cookbooks and book bags. This year, a special "library" bead for bracelets and necklaces created by the Old Company Store will be sold. Local history books and gently used books for children and adults alike will be sold.

The Friends will also hold a raffle, featuring a Kindle, a handmade necklace and a holiday gift basket. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and will be for sale until the drawing on December 13.

Village PTA Holiday Fair

The Village PTA will hold its annual Holiday Fair at Minot Forest Elementary from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The event will feature numerous vendors and crafters for holiday shopping, as well as pictures with Santa Claus and other activities for kids.

The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department will be on hand for ID fingerprinting for children. There will also be raffles, concessions and more.

Admission to the Holiday Fair is free and there are a few remaining spots open for vendors and crafters. The cost is $30 for a table.

Outside the Box Outdoor Holiday Bazaar

Sandwich Road thrift store Outside the Box will host the Outdoor Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, December 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will feature crafts, jewelry, CDs and DVDs, among other selections. Santa will make an appearance from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Photos with Santa will be provided free of charge.

Vendors may participate in the event for a $20 donation to People Helping People, which assists the local homeless population, people struggling with drug addition, and anyone else in need of help.

Vendors will be given a 12-foot-by-18-foot space. Anyone with a charity or nonprofit may participate free of charge.

Onset Bay Association Christmas in the Parks

The Onset Bay Association will host its annual Christmas in the Parks event on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The festivities begin at 12 p.m. and run until 3 p.m., but don't miss Santa's arrival! He'll ride in on a fire truck at 11:45 a.m. Children can sip cocoa with the jolly ol' elf during the event at the Onset Fire station.

Onset Village businesses will offer everything from cookie decorating to crafts, face painting, and letters to Santa. Stop by Spinney Library for holiday stories.

Christmas wagon hay rides will depart from the tennis courts on Union Avenue.

Dick Melloni Youth Foundation Christmas Toy Drive Dinner & Dance

The Dick Melloni Youth Foundation will host the 19th Annual Christmas Toy Drive Dinner & Dance on Saturday, December 3 from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Wareham Lodge of Elks, located on Cranberry Highway.

The event will feature music, dancing, raffles, and a buffet dinner with salad and desserts.

Tickets cost $20 with a donation of a small toy. For tickets, call 508-789-5427.

The Dick Melloni Youth Foundation collects unwrapped toys annually and distributes them to in need youth in Wareham and Onset.
