Earl J. Seeley, 96
Earl J. Seeley, 96, of Wareham, died Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. He was the husband of the late Sally (Oliveira) Seeley.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Clarence and Ruth (Randall) Seeley. He moved to Wareham in 1939 at the age of 14 and attended Wareham High School until he joined the U.S. Army during World War II. He served from 1943 to 1946 and participated in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe.
After his military service, he returned home and worked as a construction laborer and was a member of Laborer’s International Union Local # 385.
He is survived by his children, Steven Seeley and his wife Ginger of New Bedford, Julianne Monteiro and her husband Donald of Lynnfield, and Pamela Seeley of Wareham; his brothers, Robert Seeley of Central Falls, RI and John Seeley of NC; 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sons the late Robert Earl Seeley of Wareham and Earl J. Seeley Jr. of Wareham; his sisters, Gladys Symonds, Marilyn Suggs and Lillian Washington; his brother, Clarence J. Seeley, Jr.; and two grandchildren, Raquel Seeley and Chelsea Miranda.
Visiting hours will be Fri., Sept. 24, 2021, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. His funeral will be from Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rt. 28), Wareham on Sat., Sept. 25, 2021, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham. Following burial, a luncheon will be held at the Dudley Brown VFW Post 2846, 4 Gibbs Ball Park Rd., Onset, MA.
