Donate food, clothing for those in need
The Wareham Village Funeral Home will hold a community donation drive from Sunday, Oct. 15 through Sunday, Nov. 12.
The funeral home asks the community to join together and donate a canned good or non-perishable food item, new socks and hats.
Items can be dropped off at the funeral home offices at 5 Center Street during regular business hours. Items can be picked up by arrangement; call 508-295-4748 for more information.
From its central location, the funeral home sees a lot of people who need just a little bit of help, said Christian K. Consoletti, owner and director of the Wareham Village Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
The community has turned out generously to meet that need during previous donation drives, according to Consoletti. "It's a great response."
The funeral home tries to distribute the goods it collects locally, here in Wareham. The home does its best to coordinate with Wareham's veteran's agent; Wareham Village Funeral Home is a veteran owned business.
The funeral home is going into its 25th year in the community, and the donation drive is "just our way of giving back to the community, being part of the community," said Consoletti.
