Man charged with theft from vehicles in Onset
Daryll Scott Green, 52, was charged with two counts of felony nighttime breaking and entering of a vehicle in the area of Ellis Avenue in Onset.
Green was charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering of a vehicle or boat in the nighttime, one for each of the two vehicles mentioned to police during the Wednesday, March 27 call. A plea of not guilty was entered on all charges, and Green was released on personal recognizance, according to the court docket.
Wareham police went to 22nd Street in Onset at around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27 after a call reported a man passed out inside a vehicle, according to Wareham District Court documents. Wareham Police Officers Salerno and Aaron Pacheco found Green in the passenger seat of a resident’s vehicle.
According to court documents, an Onset resident told police that Green had taken loose change and a baseball pitch counter from the unlocked vehicle prior to passing out.
The resident directed police to a shopping bag near the vehicle that contained loose change, a car diagnostic scanner and a stainless steel flask and other items. Another neighbor told police that Green had previously looked through their unlocked vehicle as well and they believed he had taken a multitool, according to court documents.
Wareham police retrieved the items from Green, and an ambulance transported him to Tobey Hospital.
According to the Wareham Police Department, there are still a few stolen items that remain unclaimed by their original owners.
Onset residents who believe the police may have their items can reach out to Wareham Police Officer Aaron Pacheco at aaron_pacheco@warehampolice.com or can call the station at 408-295-1212.
