The Elks National Foundation provides the opportunity for local Elk Lodges to apply for grants that meet certain criteria.

The Wareham-New Bedford Elks Lodge awarded $8,500 in the most recent cycle of Elks foundation funding.

Baby Point, part of Turning Point, was given $4,000. The Baby Point program helps low-income parents care for their children, providing free diapers and gently used clothing to parents who can demonstrate financial need, among its other services.

The Gleason Family YMCA received $2,500 to support its Full Plate Program. The YMCA partners with the Boston Food Bank to give pre-packaged bags of groceries to all Southcoast residents in need.

Damien’s Place Food Pantry was the Elks’ third recipient and received $2,000. The Pantry makes food available to over 1,200 households monthly in Plymouth, Bristol and Barnstable Counties.

“We’re proud to be part of our great communities and the people they serve!” wrote the Elks.
