Taunton City Councilor and Republican candidate for the 3rd Bristol and Plymouth District senate seat Kelly Dooner will kick off her campaign with Republican Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr with an event at the Towne Tavern in Wareham, Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Dooner was elected to the Taunton City Council in 2021 making her the youngest woman elected and has served as the president of the council. Dooner will face Democrat Joe Pacheco and Independent Jim Dupont in the Nov. 5 general election to claim the senate seat that has been held for decades by longtime 3rd Bristol and Plymouth District Senator Marc Pacheco.
