Raymond G. Andrews, 74
Raymond G. Andrews, 74, of Pocasset, was called home on Friday, April 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed peacefully, at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was the son of the late Mary (Roderick Andrews) Barros and Benjamin Andrews Sr. who were formerly of Falmouth.
Born at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, Raymond grew up in Falmouth. He lived most of his adult life with his wife Kathleen in Wareham and relocated to Pocasset 16 years ago where they spent his remaining years residing with their daughter, Natara Gray.
Raymond was employed by Pro Paving & Excavating Inc. for many years and had many positions as a machine operator. He also co-owned A&B Appliance with brother-in-law Harry Basey where he repaired and sold used appliances.
He was a Paul Harris Award recipient awarded by the Barnstable Sunrise Rotary Club. Raymond loved sports and was a faithful New England Patriots fan and was likely to be found sitting in front of his tv watching old westerns and car shows. Being a jack of all trades, he never missed a chance to help out family and friends with whatever their construction/remodeling needs were. Raymond was not a man of many words but, he expressed his love for family and friends through his many acts of service. Whether it was hanging dry wall, or fixing a washer or dryer, if you called, Raymond was there.
Raymond was a devoted member of Cape Cod Church in Falmouth and could often be found having coffee and fellowshipping before service. He even had a favorite seat, where he sat faithfully every Sunday, (second row to the right, seat 26).
Raymond is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Kathleen J. (Monteiro) Andrews of Pocasset. His children; David Andrews (Angel), Lake Wales, FL, Renee Mercado (Ramon) of MN, Raymond Andrews Jr. of MN, and Natara Andrews Gray, Pocasset, MA. Brothers; Morris, Nelson and Steven.
