Michael J. Capachione, Sr.

On May 8th, 2025, Michael Capachione, Sr. of Wareham, Massachusetts passed away at the age of 70.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Patricia; children: Michael and his wife Christina, Jonathan and his wife Jacqueline, and Joshua; grandchildren: Claire, Elle, and Callie; siblings: Jean, Peter, Stephen and sister-in-law Geraldine, Paul and sister-in-law Pamela, and Richard and sister-in-law Renee.

Michael was born in Brockton, Massachusetts to Janice and Pasquale Capachione. Following the footsteps of his father, he became a Brockton Hall of Fame athlete recognized for powerlifting and cycling. After graduating from Brockton High School in 1972, Michael moved on to attend Massachusetts Maritime Academy where he played football, later transferred to Bridgewater State University and earned his Bachelor of Education degree, and then to Stonehill College where he achieved a master's degree. Alongside his athletic and academic achievements, Michael was a devoted human services worker of 32 years. He was an avid beach-goer and fisherman, who loved his dogs and his family deeply.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 to 7 PM. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Agawam Cemetery, Stillman Memorial Drive, Wareham at 11 AM.
