BOSTON - Eleanor M. "Nan" (Fernandes) Correia, 83, of West Wareham, died April 19, 2010 in the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston. She was the widow of the late Manuel "Daddy" Correia and the daughter of the late Peter and Virginia (Roderick) Fernandes. She was the partner of the late Antone "Tony" Dias.

She was born in Bourne and lived in Wareham for most of her life.

Mrs. Correia graduated from Bourne High School. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dudley L. Brown Post 2846 in Onset. She enjoyed playing Bingo.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Kim Rufo, of West Wareham; two sons, Darrell M. Correia and Leslie Correia, both of West Wareham; five foster sons, Eli Cuadrado, Kevin Andrews, Tony Gonsalves, Billy Garant and Paul Fernandes; three sisters, Pearl Almeida and Dreena Jacobs, both of Bourne, and Elizabeth "Bubs" Campinha, of Wareham; a brother, Anthony Fernandes, of Bourne; six grandchildren, Ryan, Kelsey, Randi, Marques and Kira Correia and Devon Rufo; a great-granddaughter, Raegan; and several nephews and nieces. She was the mother of the late Darrell P. Correia and the sister of the late Peter Fernandes, Jr., Manny Fernandes and Marie Rose.

Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 26, from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rte. 28), Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
