Earth Day dive gets debris out of Onset Bay

Apr 21, 2013

Divers from Onset's Buzzards Bay Dive Center and friends from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and Taunton Police cleared debris from Onset Bay on Sunday during the dive shop's annual Earth Day dive.

Buzzards Bay Dive has been conducting the Earth Day cleanup for nine years, which was evident!

"There's no trash out there!" a diver yelled as she returned to the Onset Pier to unload her small bag of trash -- which, oddly enough, included an empty fertilizer bag. "That's awesome!"

Divers did haul out a lot of the usual suspects, however -- cups, cans, beach toys, and a broken crab trap.

Earth Day is Monday, April 22.
