Alberta Clair (Concaugh) Joy, 72
Alberta Clair (Concaugh) Joy, 72, of East Wareham, passed away Thursday July 28 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a long illness. She is the wife of 43 years of Robert T. “Bob” Joy of East Wareham.
Born in Brighton, Alberta was the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (O’Brien) Concaugh. She attended Saint Columbkille Parochial School in Brighton and Boston Public Schools.
Alberta is a late member of the Wareham Emblem Club #99, the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Chapter 1279, the Wareham Democratic Town Committee, and the Plymouth County Democratic League.
She enjoyed cooking and baking and was a Communicant of Saint Patrick’s Church in Wareham, Saint Margaret’s Church in Buzzards Bay, and Saint Columbkille’s Church in Brighton.
Alberta worked for many years at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital, Raytheon in Watertown, Atlantic Instruments Newton, and Lockheed Martin, formerly Sippican Ocean Systems, in Marion.
In addition to her husband, Alberta is survived by two brothers, Philip Concaugh of Brighton and Thomas Concaugh of Virginia, and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is the sister of the late Elizabeth Squires.
Her funeral was held August 1 at the Wareham Village Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass followed in Saint Patrick’s Church. Burial will be in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
