Anthony Henson, 69
Anthony L. “Tony” Henson, 69, of East Wareham died Dec. 31 at his home unexpectedly.
Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Virginia R. (Smith) Henson. Tony served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He came to Massachusetts in 1969, and was stationed at Otis Air Force Base.
After his military service, Tony worked for Tremont Nail Company for 33 years. He enjoyed woodworking and antiques.
He is survived by his former wife and companion, Ruth D. Henson; his sister, Barbara Throckmorton, and her husband Dale of McDermott, Ohio; his brother, David M. Henson, and his wife Pam of Milford, Ohio; his brother in-law, Phillip Canedy, Sr. of East Wareham, and his nephews, Tim Throckmorton and Brian Henson, as well as several other nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday, Jan. 8 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
