Anthony Lombardo Sr., 85
WAREHAM - Anthony Peter Lombardo Sr. (“Tony” or “Lom”), 85, of Onset, MA passed away on January 22, 2026 at Tobey Hospital . He was the husband of Carole A (Cassidy) Lombardo to whom he was married for more than 62 years, and the son of the late Anthony Joseph and Eleanor (Travaglini) Lombardo.
He was born in 1941, raised in Ashland, MA and graduated from Ashland High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Navy where he served as a crewman on the USS Little Rock from 1960- 1962. He married his high school sweetheart in 1963. He and Carole settled in Holliston, MA where he lived for many years while raising three sons before retiring in Onset.
Lom spent a majority of his career as a skilled tradesman of the highest degree. He was a highly respected Millwright mechanic for Seal-Test Ice Cream, Carlings Brewery and General Motors and a proud member of the UAW. There is literally nothing he couldn’t fix, build or design. Later in life, Tony worked as a facilities manager for the Holliston & Nipmuc Regional School systems. He continued to be a true man of all trades even after his retirement, rebuilding practically every domestic system in his home with precision detail.
A simple man, when not fixing things around the house or pouring concrete, he enjoyed tending to a vegetable garden, dabbling in the kitchen with the latest Italian recipes and making his famous cioppino stew or stuffed cherry peppers. He always looked forward to sitting with visitors and sharing a glass of wine while swapping stories. And he could always be found taking walks and playing with his canine buddy, Loki. He especially enjoyed chatting with his sons every weekend during football season in order to make $1 wagers on every Patriots game.
He is survived by his wife, Carole A (Cassidy) Lombardo; his children Anthony Lombardo Jr and his wife Kristen of Whitman, MA, Mark Lombardo and his wife Ginny of Meredith, NH, and Peter Lombardo of Onset; a sister Joyce Belmore of Bradenton FL; 5 grandchildren Hannah Lombardo, Olivia Akers, Caroline Lombardo, Miranda Lombardo and Lydia Lombardo; 2 great grandchildren Kiernan and Aydin Ngankam. He was the brother of the late Kenny Lombardo.
At his request, there will be a private family service at a later date.
