An “Arbor Day Celebration” was presented by the Wareham Garden Club Tuesday. April 23 at the Wareham Free Library. The day was filled with many educational and fun activities for both adults and children.
Blake Dinius, an Entomologist for Plymouth County Extension and Meg gave an educational talk about backyard bugs and worms. There was an interactive “Bee” talk by Bee Keeper Steve as well as a tree talk by the Department of Conservation and Recreation. There was table ready for plant and bird feeder making manned by members of the Garden Club. They also had an informational table about Reducing, Reusing and Recycling. There was Story Time with earth day books read by a member of club.
The Wareham Land Trust was also present with information about their organization and hikes. Earlier this month, the Garden Club sponsored a tree planting at the Library.
