Arrests made in connection to stolen vehicle, suspected drug deal
Wareham Police arrested one person for possession of stolen property, and three others in connection to a suspected drug deal on Monday, June 29.
At around 2 p.m., detectives saw what appeared to be a drug deal at the Cranberry Plaza.
Detectives stopped the vehicle involved on Maple Springs Road, and seized suspected heroin. They arrested the driver, Ashley Lips, 32, of Plymouth.
Joseph Prada-Ruiz, 31, and Rebecca Rae Dixon, 33, both of Wareham, were arrested as they were walking away from the plaza.
Detectives then executed a search warrant at Room #135 at the Silver Lake Motel, where Prada-Ruiz and Dixon had been staying. During a search of the suspects and their room, the detectives seized over $500 in cash, suspected heroin, and a digital scale.
All three of the suspects are charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws. Lips is charged with possession of a “Class A” substance. Dixon is charged with possession with intent to distribute a “Class A” substance. Prada-Ruiz is also charged with possession with intent to distribute, as well as distribution of a Class “A” drug, subsequent offense.
Earlier, at around 10:30 a.m., officers arrested Ian Quinn, 38, of Wareham, at Maple Park, after seeing him there with a stolen vehicle and stolen cell phone.
Quinn is charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, larceny under $1,200, and use of a motor vehicle without authority.
