Arthur W. Pinckney, Jr., 65, of Onset, died Jan. 22 at home while surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Arthur W. Pinckney, Sr.

He was born in Boston and lived in Wareham for 44 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Pinckney worked for the Laborer’s Union, Local 385 in Fairhaven for 33 years before retiring.

He enjoyed fishing and working on home improvement projects. He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Darlene L. (Alves) Pinckney; his mother, Jean (Hill) Pinckney of Hyde Park; 2 sons, Arthur W. Pinckney, III and his wife Kendra of Bourne and Brian A. Pinckney of Onset; a daughter, Natasha A. Pinckney of Onset; five brothers, Jerome Pinckney and his wife Ardeen of Brockton, David Pinckney and his wife Doreen of Medford, Reggie Pinckney and his wife Cynthia of Taunton, Charlie Pinckney and his wife Barbara of Boston and Robert Pinckney and his wife Berdette of Providence, Rhode Island; a sister, Diane Pinckney of Randolph. Also survived by his sister-in-law and brother in-law, Dale and Joe Andrade and Valerie and Bruce Cardoza, Douglas Alves, and Gordon Sequeira, Jr.; his mother in-law, Delores Sequeira; 4 grandchildren, Brianna Schuchman, Devin Pinckney, Jarius Caswell, and Jaylah Mossey; two great-grandchildren, Lashi Ortiz, and Loyal Ortiz; his godchild, Ashley Alves, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, the late Michael and Donald Pinckney; his father-in-law, the late Gordon Sequeira, and his late mother-in-law, Diana James.

Services will be private.
