ONSET – Ava M. Leggett, 65, of Onset, died Monday, February 13, 2023 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River unexpectedly.

Born in Corpus Christi, TX, she was the daughter of Rochelle M. (Porter) Wood and Roy Gifford. A previous resident of Florida and Georgia, she moved to Onset 30 years ago.

Ava worked in customer service at the Bouyea Fassett Bakery Outlet in Wareham for 15 years. She was a member of the Buzzards Bay Eagles, Aerie # 3741 and loved fishing, shell-fishing, working on the cranberry bogs, and gardening. Ava was also a member of the Teamsters Local 59.

She is survived by her children, Terisa Bumpus of Plymouth, Lee Wagner of Cross City, FL and Jason Confar of Beaverton, OR; her siblings, Lana Roberts of Burrillville, RI, Kim Genson of Wareham, Bradford Roberts of Greensboro, SC, Wesley Roberts of Old Town, FL, Rebecca Brickman of Danvers and Sarah Wood of Hyannis. She was the sister of the late Laura Michael, Lloy Balboni and Roy Gifford; and the grandmother of the late Kaitlyn Reeves and Austin Wagner.

A celebration of Ava’s life will be held on February 25th from 1:00pm – 4:00pm (service will be at 2:00pm) at the Buzzards Bay Eagles #3741, 39 Cohasset Ave., Buzzards Bay.
