Raffles galore!
There’s a meat raffle and more coming to the Onset VFW Friday, Sept. 19, 4 Gibbs Ball Park Road.
The event will start at 7 p.m. and feature lots of “fun thangs” such as a meat raffle as well as scratch tickets and gift cards available in a 50/50 raffle.
Saturday, Sept. 20
Fall into Redmen Hall
As summer turns to fall, the Degree of Pocahontas is hosting its annual Harvest Moon Dinner Saturday, Sept. 20.
The dinner will be held at the Redmen Hall, 745 Main Street and will run from 5 to 10 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Dinner will include a complete chicken barbecue with pumpkin pie for dessert and there will be raffles and music.
Tickets are $20 and all proceeds raised will go towards scholarships for local students.

Breakfast and a bake sale
There's no sugarcoating at the community breakfast and bake sale.
Trinity Christian Church located at 462 Main Street in Wareham will be having its monthly free community breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
This month the church will be serving french toast, with bacon or sausages, fresh fruit, assorted juices and coffee. Homemade Baked goods, cookies, cakes and pies will be for sale during the breakfast and until 2:00 p.m.
The Mission Thrift Shop will be open during breakfast and Bake Sale until 2 p.m. For more information call or text Barbara at 508-291-1071.

Bringing words to life
Fans of Judy Lannon's works can see her at the Wareham Free Library, 59 Marion Road Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Lannon, an award winning fiction author based on Cape Cod has been recognized as a writer who brings her characters to live.
Lannon has three novels including; Nine Days, The Making of Genevieve and her most recent Callahan's Cottage. Callahan's Cottage brings readers local with a story based on the Cape.
Copies of her books will be available to purchase at the event.
