Award-winning Wareham High School students to exhibit artwork
Art students at Wareham High School have received honors in the 2011 Boston Globe Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
Alyssa Capozzi, Alex Couto and Emily Mellon all received Honorable Mention for works submitted, while Sean Kinsky, Alex Couto and Brenna McInerney received Silver Keys for various pieces.
Artwork awarded the Silver Key will be on view in Boston at the State Transportation Building from now until April 7. Although the winning artwork will still be in Boston, more work by these students and other students active within the arts may be viewed on April 7 at the Wareham High School’s third annual Arts Fair.
The Arts Fair, which was originally established to promote Arts Awareness Month, also invites local working artists to display their work while demonstrating some aspect of their creative process. All contributing artists are allowed to sell their work while participating in the fair.
The event is enhanced with musical and dramatic performances. Activities for children will also be offered. For more information, please contact Amy Dion at 508-291-3510 ext. 260 or by email at adion@wareham.k12.ma.us.
