WAREHAM – James W. Henderson, 84, of Wareham, passed away on September 22, 2025, at home.  He was the husband of Carolyn (Fletcher) Henderson. They were married for 59 years. He was the son of the late John B. and Evelyn I. (Fowler) Henderson.

He was born in Whitman and raised in Holbrook. He then lived in Marshfield before moving to Wareham in 1973.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Cuban Crisis. He was in the 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company out of Camp Lejeune, NC.

Mr. Henderson attended Holbrook High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University, a Master’s degree in Education from Boston University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the New England School of Law.

Mr. Henderson worked for the Carver Police Department from 1974 to 1995, retiring as a Sergeant. After retiring he worked as an Attorney in the area for many years.

He enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the USS Forrestal Association.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (Fletcher) Henderson; 2 sons, Daniel Henderson and his wife Hope of Sandwich and Robert Henderson of Buzzards Bay; 2 daughters, Christine Holbrook and her husband, Mark of Wareham and Martha St. Germaine and her husband, Mark of West Wareham; 7 grandchildren, Brett, Alec, Haley, Tyler, Keith, Sydney and Max; several great grandchildren.

His graveside service will be held at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne. Please arrive at the cemetery by 12:30 p.m.
