Be a social butterfly on this butterfly walk
Don't wing your Saturday, there's butterfly spotting plans ahead.
A guided butterfly walk with the Wareham Land Trust is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Red Brook Trail Network. Guests will meet at the Lyman Reserve parking lot at Head of the Bay Road and Red Brook Road.
The program will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and will be led by local butterfly enthusiast Andrew Griffith. Participants will explore the trail system while learning to identify butterflies, understand their life cycle and host plants, and gain tips for attracting butterflies to home gardens.
The walk will cover easy to moderate terrain. Participants are encouraged to bring water and wear appropriate footwear for uneven ground.
The event is free, though space is limited, register at warehamlandtrust.org.
In the event of inclement weather, the program will be canceled. Those registered will be notified by email the morning of the event, and updates will be posted on social media.
