Beverly G. Robertson, 91, assistant to dean of admissions, Radcliffe College
Beverly Robertson, born September 29, 1919 in Boston, passed on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Wareham's Tobey Hospital at the age of 91. Beverly was the widow of Ivan Robertson, whom she lost more than 20 years ago, and not a day went by that she did not think of him, her life partner.
One of Beverly's proudest accomplishments was being Assistant to the Dean of Admissions at Radcliffe College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She lived in Belmont at the time with her husband and two sons.
Beverly lived her last 25 years at British Landing in Wareham.
Since living in Wareham, Beverly took a great interest in genealogy. She traveled to libraries and gravesites and did extensive research using the internet. This was in keeping with her strong sense of family. Nothing was more important to Beverly than her family.
Survivors include her two treasured sons, Howard Robertson (and his wife Renate) and Scott Robertson (and his wife Elaine) both of Wareham. She also leaves five grandchildren: Howard's children, Steven Robertson of Raynham, Susan Robertson-Lemire, residing in Vienna, and Austria and Alison Robertson of Marion, and Scott's children, Scott Robertson, Jr. of Marion and David Robertson of Wareham. Beverly also leaves 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom she delighted in.
Beverly was dearly loved by her family, for which she was the heart and soul. Apart from visiting family, her favorite place to visit was the Cape Cod Canal. She would sit in her car by the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and watch the Coast Guard men and women do their jobs. She always recognized hard work and dedication.
As per Beverly's request, services will remain private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, (specify the Boston hospital in memo field), Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
