Bog Jog to benefit local food, sustainable farming

The Southeastern Massachusetts Agricultural Partnership (SEMAP) will host its second annual Bog Jog 5K Trail Run/walk around the A.D. Makepeace Company cranberry bogs on Saturday, September 15.

The event is a fundraiser to support local food and sustainable farming.

Advanced registration can be completed at SEMAPonline.org. The cost is $25 per ticket in advance, or $35 at the door. The race begins at 9 a.m.

New to the event this year is the Veggie Stampede, a short-distance jog on the grass for children ages 4 to 9. Registration for that event is $15 per child. The jog begins at 10 a.m.

Race materials can be picked up on Friday, September 14, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Tihonet Village Market. On race day, entrants can pick up materials at Tihonet Village Market from 7 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.

A celebration of local food will be held at the finish line. Prizes will be awarded for all age levels.
