Cape Cod Five to open first off-Cape branch at Wareham's Rosebrook Place
The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank plans to open its first off-Cape, full-service branch at the A.D. Makepeace Company's Rosebrook Place development.
Cape Cod Five, which operates 22 locations across Cape Cod and the Islands, opened a lending office in Marion in 2011. Company representatives said the response to the lending center helped them make the decision to continue the company's expansion into Plymouth County.
"The combination of the warm reception we have had from the community in response to our Marion Loan Production Office and the fact that we already have significant numbers of customers in the area and in close proximity to it, indicates to us that there is a demand for our brand of high-quality community banking services, which are uniquely tailored to each area we serve," said Dorothy A. Savarese, president and CEO of Cape Cod Five. "We can better meet the needs of this community through opening a full-service banking center."
Construction on Rosebrook Place, located on Cranberry Highway in Wareham near Interstates 495 and 195, began this spring after the LaFrance Hospitality Group announced its plans to build a Marriott Hotel and conference center on a 4-acre piece of land it is leasing from the A.D. Makepeace Company.
Rosebrook Place is located inside the Rosebrook Business Park, which currently features a medical office building occupied almost exclusively by Southcoast Hospital Group. In addition to the bank and hotel, a locally- or regionally-based restaurant, retail space, and apartments are planned.
"We are very placed to have the Cape Cod Five at Rosebrook Place," said Michael Hogan, president and CEO of the A.D. Makepeace Company. "Like our company, they have been around for many generations and have a history of respecting and giving back to the communities where they do business."
The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank reinvests into the communities it serves. The bank and its namesake foundation invested more than $900,000 in 2012, and supported more than 500 local charities through sponsorship, donations, employees volunteering, or both.
