At about 1:40 p.m., a car seems to have driven down the hill on Chapel Street, continuing at speed straight through the Main Street intersection, and driving on until reaching a stop well inside the white building at 367 Main Street, just behind Christine’s Hair Salon.

The car’s rear bumper was about a foot inside the outer wall.

Luckily, according to Police Chief John Walcek, no one was inside the building at the time. 

And the driver appeared to be unhurt as a police officer performed a field sobriety test. 

Main Street was reopened in both directions at about 2:25.
