Car flips over on Main Street
A car rolled onto its roof after striking a telephone pole near the intersection of Tremont Road and Main Street at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Friday evening.
According to emergency broadcasts, the driver of the vehicle was not seriously injured.
She was transported from the scene via stretcher by Wareham EMTs.
Witnesses said the vehicle struck a telephone pole and flipped into the air.
"She went up in the air," said Amy Tu. "She hit the pole and she just went up in the air."
Tu, who was in a car behind the car that flipped, said the driver wasn't going too fast before the accident.
Brian Westgate, a resident who saw the accident from across the street, cut the airbags in the car to speak to the woman and make sure she was OK.
The driver's current condition is unknown at this time.
