Carole L. Stone, 64
Carole L. (Ward) Stone, 64, of Dighton, formerly of Pawtucket, RI and Wareham, died Sept. 10, 2010 in the Dighton Nursing Home, after an illness. She was the daughter of Elsie (Foster) Thimas and the late Robert Ward. She was the stepdaughter of the late John Thimas. Carole was the mother of the late James R. Stone and the grandmother of the late James R. Stone, Jr.
She was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, and lived in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Wareham, before staying in Dighton due to a prolonged illness.
Ms. Stone worked as a logistics coordinator at Teknor Apex Co. in Pawtucket, RI She was also employed in the international shipping industry while in Connecticut, along with various companies throughout Manhattan.
She enjoyed painting as well as all aspects of artistry. Carole traveled extensively throughout her lifetime. She was an avid listener of different genres of music ranging from classical to jazz.
Carole's family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Dighton Nursing Home for the love and care given to Carole during the past year.
Survivors include her mother Elsie (Foster) Thimas, of Wareham, a brother, John Thimas, of Lakeville, and three sisters, Susan Rezendes, of Pawtucket, R.I., Cynthia Fernandes, of Marietta, GA, and Vivian Thimas, of Wareham.
Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Wareham.
Visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
