CEDA invites residents and business owners to sound off on Merchants Way project
The Community and Economic Development Authority (CEDA) will hold public discussions for Wareham Village business and property owners, as well as the general public regarding the redesign of Merchants Way.
CEDA is looking for the thoughts, ideas, and concerns of the community about a project meant to make Wareham Village more vibrant with the renovations to Merchants Way. Merchants Way runs parallel to Main Street, adjacent to the Agawam River.
The proposed project includes improved parking, clearly marked bike paths and travel lanes, the conversion of the train depot to a bus depot, landscaping and more.
CEDA officials hope to make the area welcoming to drivers, pedestrians, and bike riders, in order to make it more livable and pedestrian friendly.
The public forum for Wareham Village business and property owners will be on May 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the forum for the general public will be May 18 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Both forums will be held at the Town Hall auditorium, located at 54 Marion Road.
If you’re interested in attending, contact the CEDA office at 508-291-3100 ext. 3172 and ask for Jaqui Hickey, or shoot her an e-mail at jhickey@wareham.ma.us
