The state Department of Transportation is planning to rebuild the Mill Pond Dam and replace the bridge that goes above the dam, crossing the Agawam River as part of Cranberry Highway.

The Department is looking for citizen feedback on the proposed project. 

A public virtual hearing about the construction plan, which could take an estimated three or four years, will be held on Tuesday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m.

According to the Department of Transportation, the bridge will be open to both lanes of traffic throughout construction, except for the “first phase,” which will take place during fall and winter. 

The bridge will remain open for pedestrians, and all local businesses will remain open and accessible.
