Citizen tip leads to drug arrest in Swifts Beach
A tip from a concerned citizen led to a drug arrest in the Swifts Beach section of Wareham on Monday, June 11, according to a police press release.
Wareham detectives arrested 41-year-old Joeyna Barber of 173 Swifts Beach Road for possession with the intent to distribute heroin, police said.
Police said that, after getting the citizen tip, they conducted a motor vehicle stop in which Barber provided a false name and false identification.
Police said they subsequently learned that Barber was operating the vehicle after suspension of her license.
Barber was transported to the station, where 14 small baggies containing heroin and two yet-to-be-identified pills were located on her person during booking procedures, police said.
Barber was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class A substance (heroin), possession of a Class B substance (opiates), operating after suspension, providing a false name, and speeding.
