Glass and caution tape scatter the scene of a downed light pole and road sign on Main Street across from Chapel Street following a car crash at around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29. 

An officer on scene said the incident is still under investigation but the driver traveling north missed the stop sign in the intersection of Main Street and Chapel Street or attempted to evade another vehicle, likely causing the accident.

There were no serious injuries reported and the driver was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford for routine evaluation. 

Traffic was halted on Main Street and was directed down Sawyer during the incident but resumed around 1:50 p.m.
