Committee for further study of private ways recommended by Selectmen

Oct 5, 2016

Selectmen will continue to study Article 26 on the Town Meeting agenda, which concerns temporary repairs of private ways.

Article 26 aims to add to the town's bylaws (Division II, Article 1, Section 18) that grading work on private ways be completed twice a year and the cost of materials be the responsibility of abutters. The article also seeks to add a line at the beginning of the section which reads: "For the purpose of allowing safe and ready passage of police, fire, ambulance, and school busses."

The article was inserted by Edward Pacewicz, et al, and the Finance Committee voted to recommend a committee for further study on the article. The Board of Selectmen followed suit.

The board will meet at 5 p.m. next week in observance of Rosh Hashanah.
