Jun 11, 2011

Congressman Barney Frank gave a lively speech at Lindsey’s Restaurant Saturday morning. The breakfast, sponsored by the Wareham Democratic Town Committee, drew dozens of concerned citizens, town, and state officials, including Senator Marc Pacheco and members of the Board of Selectmen.

Frank, who represents the Fourth Congressional District of Massachusetts, told the crowd he is committed to learning more about the issues that impact Wareham and said he enjoys addressing its citizens.

“I don’t go more than a half hour without hearing about Wareham,” he joked. “It is nice to speak to a group of people who know who Harry Truman was...”

Frank spoke about a wide range of subjects including military spending, taxation, and Medicare. He also took a few minutes to answer questions from the audience.

The Congressman encouraged the crowd to be active in the upcoming presidential election, calling it a “very important election” for democrats.
