Jul 8, 2010

William Plasko, Jr. has been named principal of Wareham Cooperative Junior Senior High School.

Plasko comes to Wareham from Franklin Public Schools, where he oversaw the Franklin High School alternative-learning program. The school and program were toured when administrators were building the alternative program for the West Wareham Academy, Superintendent Dr. Barry Rabinovitch told the School Committee July 7.

Plasko was welcomed warmly by the School Committee. He has more than 12 years of experience working with students who have difficulties achieving within the traditional high school environment, and also serves on the Norwood School Committee.

"Every day starts a new day, so if there is an issue or ... negative behavior, the slate is clean to a certain degree the next day," he told the School Committee.

Plasko takes over for Scott Palladino, who was promoted to principal of Wareham High following the departure of Patrick Clark at the end of last school year.
