Cranberry Wilderness Bike Ride

Jul 16, 2013

What is it?

On July 20, 2013, the Bourne-Wareham Kiwanis Club in conjunction with the A. D. Makepeace Company will host a Cranberry Wilderness Bike Ride in Wareham. The tour will be a unique and relaxing ride around the cranberry bogs and woodlands of the A. D. Makepeace Company and is designed to be a fun family event that will be open to riders of all ages and abilities.

Why do it?

On top of experiencing the beauty of Massachusetts’ natural resources through a casual bike ride (two courses offered 3 mile and 6 mile), the ride will have multiple “rest stops” along the course which will provide riders with a brief rest, a snack, beverages and information from different participating organizations. Once riders complete the tour, we will have fun family and kid activities along with a picnic lunch sponsored by Makepeace Farms in Tihonet Village.  All proceeds from the bike ride will benefit the Bourne-Wareham Kiwanis Club.

Post Tour Fun….

Riders and attendees will enjoy a Picnic Lunch, a Yoga Cool Down offered by Yoga Light Studio, children’s activities and a bike safety rodeo offered by the Bourne-Wareham Kiwanis Club.  The bike safety rodeo will focus on reducing the number of children injured in bicycle accidents who require treatment in our trauma centers and community hospitals.
