Crystal M. Brightman, 75, of W. Wareham, died Friday, March 12, 2021, unexpectedly at her home.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Olga (Sulyma) Jata. She moved to Wareham in 1972.

Mrs. Brightman was the long-time caretaker at Sacred Heart Seminary in Wareham until the property was sold. She was also a dedicated and active parishioner at St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham, where she was a member of the folk group.

She is survived by her sons, Scott Brightman and his wife Kati of Wareham, and Derek Brightman of Marion; her brother, Edward Jata of Port Richey, FL; and her grandchildren, Gabrielle, Andrew and Jonathan.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Thurs., March 18, 2021, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 7 PM. Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Fri., March 19, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham at 10 AM. Those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
